If there were literally no restrictions or barriers at all, I would love to be a pilot (I would have loved to fly search and rescue helicopters) or a dog handler in the RAF, but I am too old for both of those now!
I used to fly gliders and small aircraft when I was a teenager as part of the Air Cadets and I consistently outscored all the boys on my flying exams (which was awesome!) and the instructors were all very encouraging that I should go for it. The dog handler thing is because I love dogs and the idea of working with one so closely is very appealing.
I didn’t get into the RAF on medical grounds though, so a military career was not an option in the end. But by then had already developed an interest in Psychology and I think that even if I had gone into the RAF I would have come to Occupational Psychology by now anyway as it is a real passion of mine and fits with my personality so well.
